Chaucer for fun

Here's a post for all you Chaucer fans, who are not afraid to take your love of Chaucer beyond the classroom. Bill Baily performs a skit in the spirit of Chaucer.

Matt, that was fun. Thanks for sharing. I don't know why folks aren't responding to your film. They should be.

I need some help on video games for my 18 year old nephew and 15 year old niece.

She likes Nancy Drew and the Lord of the Rings; he John Madden football.

What do you think? They have xbox but not the newest one.

If she likes lord of the rings, Karen, I might suggest looking into a good role playing game. I used to love games like Myst; they remind me a lot of the fantasy genre; you really get absorbed into another world. I also have seen Nancy Drew computer games at places like Best Buy and Staples if that's something she'd be able to use...

Anyhow, thanks for sharing this movie Matt, it was hilarious. I found it very disturbing that someone who professes to love Chaucer doesn't understand why people who don't teach it like it.

Professor Stearns,
Natalie is probably right about your niece liking RPGs, but from what I've read, "Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind" is one of the best fantasy RPGs on the XBOX. There is also good Lord of the Rings RPG based on the movies: "The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age."
Get Madden06 for your nephew. I just bought if for the PS2 for $10, and it is great. If he's a big football fan, having team rosters that are up-to-date are very important, so I would not buy anything older than Madden05 if you can avoid it. Madden07 is also good, but since it is this year's version, you will have to pay $40.

She really loves the Drew games and has them all It think. Would MYST be appropriate for 15?

As for Madden, '07 I'm afraid that's what I have to buy. My brother's kids, unlike their aunt, have never known want.

Thanks so much. I'm going to look for these others you're recommending Matt.

You and Natalie are such a help to me--always.
